Beaded Bookmark
Designed By Karen Benvenuti
This super-simple bookmark is a bead-stringing project—no fusing needed! All girls know how to braid, and they just add a few beads and rods at the beginning and end. This is the perfect quick gift they can make for Mom that they can do completely on their own.
Step: 1
Bead Colors Needed:
- Magenta - 4
- Prickly Pear - 7
- Turquoise - 7
Rod Color Needed:
- Magenta - 6
See the Supply List for beads and tools you can purchase here. You will also need:
- Cord or thread: 60 inches each of 3 coordinating colors
Step: 2
Download the PDF for the Beaded Bookmark Project Pattern.
Step: 3
Thread 3-4 beads onto each cord and slide them to the center of the length. Lay all 3 cords side by side and together fold them in half with the beads in the center. Tie a simple overhand knot below the beads to secure them. Now you should have 6 strands of even length.
Step: 4
Separate the strands to make three groups of 2 strands each. Braid the strands until you have about 8 inches of braid. Tie a knot at the bottom of the braid.
Step: 5
On each of the six strands, add one small bead and one rod. Tie a knot below each rod, them trim the ends.
