Minion Photo Frame

★★★★★ ★★★★★

This fun Minions photo frame lets kids show off a picture of their best buds, real or imaginary! Printable message inserts included for Best Buds, hangin’ with my friends, plus a blank for kids to write their own message. Project uses the Despicable Me Pattern Pad.

Step: 1

Bead Colors Needed:

  • Yellow - 226
  • Light Blue - 509
  • Black - 148
  • Additionally, you will need the bead colors for the designs you choose from the Pattern Pad.

See the Supply List for beads and tools you can purchase here. You will also need:

  • 2 large square pegboards
  • Despicable Me Pattern Pad 80-22842
  • Photo
  • Scissors
  • Tape
  • Quick-drying adhesive
  • Self-adhesive frame stand
Step: 2

Download the PDF for the Minion Photo Frame Project Pattern. Create three Minion characters from the pattern pad by placing your beads on the pegboards as shown by the patterns. If you are using a clear pegboard, slide the actual-size pattern underneath it. Then make the frame from the pattern sheet.

Step: 3

Ask an adult to fuse your designs. Place your pegboard on a flat, heat-safe surface. Set a household iron to the medium setting. Place ironing paper over the pegboard. In a circular motion, begin to iron the project. When ironed properly, the beads will still have open centers. Let the design cool.

Step: 4

Remove the paper and bead design from the pegboard. Flip the design over to expose the non-fused side. Repeat step two. Let cool completely. Once the design is cool, peel off the ironing paper. Your pegboards and ironing paper are reusable.

Note: Beads need heat for about 10-20 seconds per side to fuse evenly. Lift the paper occasionally to see how the beads are fusing. Additional heating time may be required.

Step: 5

ASSEMBLY: Choose a message for your frame from the ones at left, or write a message of your own on the blank using a marker. Cut it out and tape it to the back of the frame. Cut a photo to 4 3/4 x 3 3/8 inches and attach with tape in the same way.

Step: 6

Glue the Minion characters in place as desired. Secure the frame stand on the back of the frame.
